Foods Rich in Calcium

  • Tip for lasagne lovers: 1/4 cup of ricotta cheese has more calcium than a cup of either cottage cheese or milk.
  • If you take more than 500 mg of calcium daily, space the pills out during the day to enhance absorption and reduce risk of constipation.
  • Use skim milk everyday. It has virtually no fat and as much calcium as whole milk. If it tastes too watery to you, just add a tablespoon or two of nonfat dried milk to each cup. It will then have that richer taste with additional calcium and protein.
